Even stars are at risk of looking like they have “lips on their eyelids” after eyelash extensions treatment with an untrained technician. There has been a lot of speculation in the press about how singer/ actress Kristen Chenowth got an infection from her eyelash extensions. Kristen is now forced to wear sunglasses everywhere after suffering an allergic reaction to her eyelash extensions treatment. It appears that the star’s rogue lash stylist used glue that has formaldehyde.  


Formaldehyde is a colorless, flammable, strong-smelling chemical that is used in building materials and to produce many household products. It is also commonly used as an industrial fungicide,germicide, and disinfectant, and as a preservative in mortuaries and medical laboratories. Some people are very sensitive to formaldehyde whereas others have no reaction to the same level of exposure. Reactions may include burning sensations in the eyes, nose and throat, watery eyes, nausea, wheezing and swelling.  


The guild of beauty therapists in the UK require all eyelash extensions technicians to use EU approved glue that does not contain formaldehyde. You should ensure that your technician is aware of the effects of the chemical and seeks to use professional glue that does not contain formaldehyde. Safe advanced glues which have no such harmful chemicals in them can only be purchased by trained eyelash extensions technicians with correct certification for the UK. Rogue technicians tend to buy imported untested and harmful glues which could contain formaldehyde and other more harmful chemicals. The only way to ensure that your eyelash extensions will not cause the Kristen Chenoweth effect is to have them applied by a trained, certified and insured lash technician. We Are coming Out!...We want the World to know!

Hello World, Our busy eyelash extensions diary has caused us to pay little attention to our blog and we have not updated you all about the exciting changes that have been happening here at Primalashes. Our apologies. You have probably noticed the new look and immaculate logo. Our branding work is not complete, but we are too excited to keep the progress to ourselves. So far we have the logo and the Official Primalashes Pattern complete... I know - Very Exciting!

 We asked Nicole at Design Womb,  to create a logo that epitomises or professional approach to eyelash extensions and a pattern that translates our creative flare. We could not have found a more understanding  and an exceptionally talented designer to to create  exactly what we wanted. We especially love the rich bold blue contrasting with the soft blush. And don't get us started on the eyelash pattern arranged in a chevron. A real design masterpiece. Even if we say so ourselves! Watch out for a complete overhaul of the Primalashes brand. Afterall the best eyelash extensions in London deserves to look dapper!



That is not the only exciting thing happening. We also now have an eyelash extensions studio in Knightsbridge, Belgravia. We are still adding the finishing touches to make it look like a creative haven! We have decided to furnish it with handmade treasure made by our fair hands. We have hilarious pictures of Priscilla and Maria sanding chairs away to personalise them and will share them all here on our Project Prima section.

Being right in the centre of London has also given us the opportunity to collaborate and work on some amazing projects with celebrities and some amazing people. We will be updating this blog frequently so be sure to come along to keep up with all the news.
